The presence of IMG at PLAST was rewarded with many visitors

Many customers and visitors had the opportunity to see three of our flagship rubber moulding machines in operation: among the visitors were also the Minister for the Environment and Safety Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and the Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy Valentino Valentini

IMG presence at PLAST was rewarded with many visitors and two top institutional positions. An opportunity, that of the recent fair in Milan, to present our latest models of elastomer moulding machines to an international clientele. We are therefore increasingly focused on reaching the European market, and beyond, of rubber manufacturers. Our customers had the chance to see three machines in action. The REM 300, a full-electric rubber injection moulding machine, the vertical VCV and a c-frame model called NEK.

Among the many visitors there were two exceptional ones, the Minister of the Environment and Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and the Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Valentino Valentini. Fratin and Valentini stopped for a long time to see our machines in action, particularly attracted by the innovative REM 300.

The flagship, REM 300, the full-electric injection moulding machine for rubber

The new REM 300 rubber machine represents a highly innovative project for IMG. It is the first ever full-electric machine in the world of rubber. In line with a company policy that is always focused on progress, we have created a mix of innovation and technology at the highest level. Indeed, the commitment to the design of a full-electric machine meets the requests of a demanding international market.

With a mould clamping force of 3000 kN, the REM 300 allows a reduction in energy consumption and maintenance costs. A real benefit in terms of total costs and reduced environmental impact. The absence of oil in the circuit is a plus. Furthermore, its electronics allow extremely precise monitoring of all the machine functions. A decidedly higher level of performance for mould quality control and more precise handling of internal parts.

VCV vertical machine and a c-frame model named NEK

The VCV vertical machine has a clamping unit consisting of an ‘inverted piston’ which applies a force of 300 tonnes and features a Li.Fo (last in – first out) injection unit. The clamping unit, with ‘bottom-up’ movement of the piston, guarantees a saving in handling time of around 30% on the total clamping/opening phase of the machine, ensuring a faster moulding process. The machine is also equipped with the ‘shifter’ system, which allows the mould height to be adjusted in a very flexible manner.

Visitors were therefore able to see a highly responsive machine in operation, capable of ensuring a significant reduction in energy consumption and greater speed throughout the entire moulding process with a reduction in production costs for the customer.

The third press on display, the c-frame NEK, features a double-piston vertical clamping, with top-down movement and no guide pillars. This particular model can also feature an anthropomorphic robot to replace the loading and unloading of materials by the human operator.

At Plast we also presented the new IMG PRIME service

Considerable interest was aroused by the brand-new IMG PRIME service. An Industrial AIIoT (Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things) solution based on HTML5 WEB APP technology. It is ideal for managing different aspects of connected machines and lines, including: efficiency analysis, bottleneck detection, process telemetry and black box, energy consumption, preventive and predictive maintenance. The goal of IMG PRIME is to offer a digital Industrial IoT platform that is fully integrated with our machines and processes.
