GUM VERTICAL

Vertical, bottom-up hydraulic closing system. Hydroblock clamping with fast moving platen approach, cutter entry and high-pressure cylinder start. Vertical injection unit with reciprocating screw (with screw drive by hydraulic motor).

Alternatively, separate screw + piston injection unit (with screw activation by oleodynamic motor) or, injection unit with FI.FO system (plasticizing screw incorporated in the injection punch). Optional combination with translating lower dock. Latest technology hydraulic system with servomotor on the pump controlled by an inverter that can ensure significant energy savings, as well as effective closed-loop control. Available from 200 to 400 TON.

Advantages

  • Great compactness of all IMG vertical press models to maximize space utilization.
  • Painting of machine according to customer specifications (all colours).
  • On our vertical machines we provide the “shifter system”, which allows very flexible mould height adjustment.
  • Hydroblock closure system: click below for available closures.

Hydroblock closure FIFO injection

The reduced size of the FIFO injection unit compared to the screw + piston unit allows the realization of a machine with small final dimensions, i.e., a machine that is particularly suitable for customers with reduced space in the company.

FIFO stands for “first in-first out”. This type of injection ensures that the raw material entering the chamber is always the first to be injected through the nozzle, so the material used is always the most recent.

Hydroblock clamping for vertical moulds consists of the following 3 steps:

  1. fast approach of the moving platen, by means of 2 hydraulic cylinders;
  2. insertion of a plate (cutter) which locks struts connected to the moving platen;
  3. closure of the mould by means of a central high-pressure piston with reduced stroke.

The feature of the Hydroblock clamping system consists in having the two movements of rapid approach and actual compression separate from each other: this allows 2 specific operations (which are not possible with simple piston or toggle clamping):

Transfer moulding: in case of problems in filling the mould cavity, due to the high viscosity of the material, or other filling problems;

Degassing (both during and after the injection phase): degassing consists in being able to eliminate the gases generated in the mould cavity during or after injection, again taking advantage of the possibility of alternating the two opening movements, (1) approach and (2) compression, of the Hydroblock closure.

Hydroblock closure screw + piston injection

The screw + piston injection unit is also known as LIFO, which stands for “last in-first out.”

This injection type is recommended for productions that require the ability to inject high quantities of raw material (elastomer), thus for the production of articles of large size.

It is very popular as injection type in vertical rubber injection models.
