The two-day event of the 5th edition of the machine operator course has concluded, featuring theoretical and practical lessons to gain full familiarity with IMG presses.
The 5th course for rubber press operators took place on March 11 and 12, 2025. It consisted of two intensive days of theory and practice aimed at ensuring efficient use of presses for molding rubber products. The course was organized by IMG School, the internal division responsible for courses and technical education, with the contribution of the specialized company Mongodi. Participants were offered a well-established format that has already achieved great success in previous editions while also collecting insights for improvements in future sessions.
How the 5th Course for Rubber Press Operators Was Structured
The 5th course for rubber press operators was specifically designed for those with at least basic familiarity with the machine. It was divided into classroom sessions and hands-on training directly on the press to closely examine the full potential of one of the key tools for manufacturing rubber and silicone products. This allowed participants to become familiar with IMG presses and the latest available technologies.
Course Program
At IMG’s headquarters in Capriano del Colle, machine operators were guided by IMG School technicians through various topics, including:
- Introduction to the world of rubber: origins of the industry district and key characteristics of rubber products.
- Key components of molding and a “good” molding process:
- Compounds
- Molds
- Presses
- The operator at the center
- Human-machine interface: how to use the IMG press and its main settings.
- Molding process:
- Molding procedures
- Discussion on recurring issues
- Molding trials
Why Participation Was Important
Attending the course provided a select group of operators the opportunity to directly engage with the machinery manufacturers. Theoretical and, above all, practical training was aimed at achieving the highest quality and efficiency in the molding cycle, with one key objective: to make operators fully proficient in using the press, maximizing its production capacity.
IMG’s Extensive Experience in Rubber and Elastomer Presses
Since 2006, IMG has installed more than 2,000 machines in Italy, with a strong presence in the “rubber valley,” then across Europe, and today in many areas worldwide. This has allowed us to develop unparalleled expertise at the highest levels in the rubber and elastomer press sector.
Today, our product range includes over 14 types of high-performance, fast, and reliable machines. Additionally, we offer special presses designed and built upon specific requests, as well as robotic islands—our flagship technology for highly automated production—ensuring an extremely efficient production cycle with reduced costs.
